The Winston consists of a minimum of 20 cars and drivers
comprised of:
- Drivers and car owners who have won races in the preceding
and current years.
- Any active driver who has won the NASCAR Winston Cup
championship
- Any active driver who has won The Winston within the five
preceding years.
- The Winner of the Winston Open.
- The Winner of the Winston Open "No Bull Sprint"
If 20 winners are not eligible, winners from previous seasons still
active in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series become eligible for The Winston.
All active winners during that season become eligible, even if the field
exceeds 20 drivers.)
