| While we were visiting Florida in the summer of 1998 they were
experiencing some very bad wildfires. We had originally gone to Florida to visit and
to attend the Pepsi 400 NASCAR Winston Cup race, but the race race was postponed because
of the fires. We were staying at Suzy's father's house and had to be evacuated to a
hotel for a couple of days. When we were returning home we saw some huge smoke in
the sky and went to investigate. It turned out if was the novelty and firecracker
store at the intersection of US 1 and Interstate 95, so we grabbed our Sony Mavica digital
camera and popped a shots.

We arrived at the scene of this fire at
about the same time as the fire trucks. The firemen were not able to save this
building. |
Suzy's dad has a pool and boathouse in his backyard and is frequented by all kinds of
wildlife. We often see baby manatees and alligators when we
are there. He's a shot of a baby alligator catching some afternoon sun. I
apologize in advance for the "fuzzy" photograph. I guess the water was
giving the autofocus a hard time.
